On October 1, an exhibition of Chinese-Belarusian art opened at the National Art Museum. The samples of traditional painting, works of metal, stone, ceramics and wood of modern authors and masters of the past are presented. sb.by correspondents attended the opening ceremony.

The start of the event is timed to the date of formation of the PRC. Today, China celebrates one of the main national holidays, it symbolizes the unity and prosperity of the Chinese people. Irina Matyas, Director General of the National Art Museum, noted that every year our countries are developing a closer cultural dialogue:
Belarus and China are creating joint projects. By enriching each other’s art, they develop and inspire each other. We are grateful to the Chinese side for the proposal to make such a unique exhibition, for the fact that it is on our site that we show the masterpieces of the two countries. We hope that the exposition will be popular and visitors interested in Chinese culture will become more.

Advisor on science and technology of the Chinese Embassy in Belarus Yang Junke is inspired by the unusual project:
- It is an honor to attend the opening of the exhibition. China and Belarus have a comprehensive partnership. We cooperate fruitfully in many areas. The exhibition brought together the best works of painting, sculpture and decorative and applied art of our countries. The exhibits reflect the historical memory of the Silk Road. Natural landscapes and cultural flavor are presented, the common aspiration of peoples for peace and development is felt.

Among the organizers of the event are the Chinese Research Institute of Folk Art and the cultural and educational center “Dunou”, whose director Cui Wenjie noted:
- Since the establishment of the center in 2019, we have been promoting Chinese folk art in Belarus. We believe that culture is a bridge between hearts, and art is a thread between feelings. The exposition carries the skill and wisdom of Chinese artisans and shows our heritage. There are works of Belarusian masters on Chinese themes. It's an example of deep friendship.

Among the most unusual exhibits is a relay stick divided in two. At one end is the flag of the PRC, at the other - Belarus. It symbolizes the unity of nations. Made of metal, glass and enamel. The application of pandas from the fibers of bamboo leaves, which mimic the fur of animals, deserves attention. Mesmerizing statuette of a warrior made of black and green jade. The stone is heavy in processing, from the master in the work requires extreme concentration. The casket for storing stud-knives of the early XIX century is a tribute to the museum from the Chinese people. According to the organizers, in China it is not customary to give to foreign expositions or give things older than the XX century. The hairpins are not made in life size, they are enlarged. Similar Chinese women would cut their hair and defend themselves in case of danger. After the exhibition, the gift will be given for restoration.
