“Belarusfilm” is working on several animated films that will soon be seen by the viewer. This was told to journalists by the head of the cinematography department of the Ministry of Culture of Belarus Irina Driga during the opening of the XXIX International Animated Film Festival "Animayevka-2026" in Mogilev, sb.by reports.

Animaevka is one of the longest-lived festivals, Irina Driga emphasized and listed several secrets of the festival’s longevity:

Animated films are a genre of cinema that is designed for a very different audience: from toddlers to adult viewers. No wonder now gained immense popularity such genre as a full-length family animated film, where grandparents, fathers, mothers and children go. This is the most popular genre for the whole family. Second, this festival is made by real professionals. If you follow the program, you can see that the best works of professional masters of animated cinema are collected here. And this is very important, because there is no such thing at any Belarusian festival. Here is the work of children's animation studios. That is, we can see where talented children grow up, compare them with children from other countries and in the future find future professional masters.

According to the head of the department for cinematography of the Ministry of Culture, animated art in Belarus is now experiencing a rise. Thus, the Ministry of Culture adopted a strategy for the development of national animation for 2026-2030. It implies an increase in the production of animated films, and the transition to the full-length films, animated series that are in demand at the box office.

- Our animators choose the most popular themes - fairy tales, adventures of famous heroes in the modern world, modern stories. It’s not as small and short as it was a few years ago, now it’s really big animation that looks solid on the big screen. And I hope that the premieres that come out will attract viewers.

So, on October 8, the premiere of the animated series “The Wolf” starts. It can be seen as a whole movie lasting 60 minutes, and in series. For the first time this film was shown just on Mogilev land, in Alexandria - there was a pre-premier screening. And he was very interested in the kids. These are the first steps in implementing the national animation development strategy. Among the future films are also feature films “Girl and Tractor”, “Rescue Team”. Director Elena Turova is working on a project related to the Mogilev land – “Secrets of Alexandria”.

- It turns out that Alexandria is also good because the Belarusian Academy of Wizards is located in its vicinity. What they do and what they teach, with whom they fight and make friends – all this, I hope, our viewer will see at the pre-premier show at the Kupala in Alexandria, Irina Driga announced.
