The Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will host the only show of the ballet performance “Two Annas” for the first time this autumn, the cultural institution reported.
- This is a story in a dance about two legends of the twentieth century - poet Anna Akhmatova and ballerina Anna Pavlova. This is a joint project of the MuzArts production company and the Diaghilev P.S. International Art Festival, which premiered last February in St. Petersburg on the stage of the Tovstonogov BDT. The play has two parts, each with its own unique style and mood. The directors did not strive for biographical accuracy, but focused on the emotional resonance of the lives of outstanding women, on their inner experiences and on the difficult choice between love and creativity that they had to make.
In the ballet of Yuri Posokhov, two Akhmatovs will appear before the audience. The Prima of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Eleanor Sevenard translates Akhmatova’s fate into the language of dance, and the immortal word of Anna Andreevna will be performed by BDT actress Polina Malikova. In the center of the plot - the poet and two main men in her life: her husband - the poet Nikolai Gumilev and the artist Amedeo Modigliani. The performance is occupied by leading soloists of the Bolshoi Theatre of Russia Anastasia Stashkevich, Elizaveta Kokoreva, Vyacheslav Lopatin, Alexei Putintsev, Ulyana Moksheva, the famous Russian dancer Ildar Gainutdinov and others. The author of the libretto and director - Felix Mikhailov, composer - Ilya Demutsky, set designer Maria Tregubova, costume designer Svetlana Tegin, video artist Ilya Starilov, lighting artist Ivan Vinogradov. The only show of the ballet "Two Annas" on the stage of the Bolshoi Theatre of Belarus will be held on November 6.
