The Irkutsk Governor held a meeting due to a “especially dangerous infection”

The governor of the Irkutsk region Igor Kobzev held an extraordinary meeting of the regional sanitary and anti-epidemic commission together with the head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova, he said in Max.

According to him, the reason was the information about suspicion “in case of a disease by a resident of the region with a particularly dangerous infection.” The Governor specified that Rospotrebnadzor conducts a full range of anti-epidemiological measures, at the meeting of the Commission approved an operational plan of action.

“I inform you that all identified contact persons have been taken under medical supervision. As of today, contacts have no signs of the disease and the results of laboratory tests are negative, Kobzev said.

In a conversation with TASS, he pointed out that it is premature to call the infection, suspected of which was detected in the region. First, we need to wait for the conclusions of experts, he added. Kobzev assured that all measures for its localization have been taken.

In turn, the mayor of Shelekhov district Maxim Modin said that the Shelekhov district hospital was closed for quarantine.
