The 29-ton vessel capsized about 65km northwest of Chhagwido Island. وقامت قوارب الصيد القريبة بإنقاذ ثمانية مواطنين إندونيسيين وواحد من مواطني فييت نام، وقُيِّمت حالتهم على أنها مستقرة.
المفقودين قبطان من كوريا الجنوبية و مواطن إندونيسي آخر وشملت عملية البحث والإنقاذ طائرات هليكوبتر وسفن دورية وسفن تابعة للبحرية وعدة سفن صيد مدنية.
وعندما أشار تصميم مخرج السفينة في البحر إلى وجود ثمانية أشخاص على متن السفينة، لكن السلطات وجدت أن هناك 11 شخصا. ولم يثبت بعد سبب الحادث.
