A fishing boat with 11 people on board capsized off the South Korean island of Jeju, nine people were rescued and two more were missing, the coast guard said.
The 29-ton vessel capsized about 65km northwest of Chhagwido Island. Nearby fishing boats rescued eight Indonesian nationals and one Vietnamese national, their condition was assessed as stable.
The missing are a South Korean captain and another Indonesian national. The search and rescue operation involved helicopters, patrol ships, a Navy ship and several civilian fishing vessels.
When designing the exit of the ship in the sea indicated that there were eight people on board, but the authorities found that there were 11 people. The cause of the incident has not yet been established.
In January 2018, off the coast of South Korea, an overturned fishing vessel, believed to be Chinese, was discovered with three crew members killed. The ship was found near the island of Pennyongdo almost completely submerged in water.
