Why life does not stop even in small villages, said a resident of the Krasnopol district

A resident of the Mogilev region Valentina Melnikova in the care of the state about the older generation sees simple human values and sincere warmth

In the village of Kamsk, Krasnopol district, only a couple of old-timers remained, among them Valentina Melnikova. She could have moved to the city for a long time, but meets the silver age in her home. Around - picturesque landscapes and fresh air, there is a garden and farm. In her quiet and remote corner Valentina Alexandrovna does not feel alone. The post office and the car shop come on schedule, the social worker and the doctor visit regularly, the village council is always in touch - everything you need for a full and peaceful life.

Valentina Melnikova. Not Kask - China! On the village street where Valentina Melnikova lives, there are only two houses. Her house is extreme, only the field and the forest. The road ends right at the gate. Valentina Alexandrovna wore an elegant red scarf to the arrival of the guests. Smiles:

- We have a picture nature! And the places are rich: mushrooms grow almost near the house. I used to wear baskets, hogs, hogs... I don't have my legs going well, and I don't have eyesight.

Valentin Melnikova remembers his youth with burning eyes – they knew how to work and relax:

- I am 75 years old, and worked from 15: immediately after school I got a job in a brick factory. I go home with the crew and think: I am tired, I will not go to the dance. We reach the village - the harmonica plays, and the soul unfolds: quadrille, cracovyak, "Lyavonikha", "Semenovna", "Lady", polka. I loved songs. We go to the field to dry the hay or go to the factory - eat the whole track.

The village used to be big, fun and friendly. It is now seven yards and 11 people left, nods to Valentin Melnikov's window:

- There were young people, my mother! Kamsk was called China: 120 yards, farm, shop, elementary school. When Chernobyl hit, people were relocated. Over time, the village was rehabilitated, but most never returned.

- Now I have a garden of only five acres, and before a hectare and a half plowed without a man. At home there was a horse, chickens, pigs, sheep, goats, two cows and calves, and geese, ducks, turkeys. I'll get up at four in the morning, melt the stove, feed the house and go to work. I changed my horse to a motorcycle only three years ago.

Even now in the yard of Valentina Alexandrovna 30 chickens. Buying eggs is not a problem, but it is not in her nature to idle. Moreover, there is help not only from children who live in the city, but also from a social worker. Olga Podolyakina in the Krasnopolsky district center of social services of the population for a little more than a year, but she has already become attached to her ward:

- I treat Alexandrovna as a native person, and she calls me a daughter. I come here three times a week and I am welcome. I do everything that is required: bring water or firewood, help with laundry or clean the house. And just heart to heart to talk is expensive. Communication is often more important than domestic issues. He talks about his life, and I admire its inner strength: not everyone can raise children alone, and even keep such a household.

Olga Podolyakina helps with the household. By duty and the call of the heart, the conversation interrupts the open door. On the doorstep is the postman of the motorized mail delivery of the Krasnopolsky postal section Lyudmila Petrachenkova, who smiles: We always help the elderly, both on duty and on the call of the heart. We deliver letters, newspapers, pensions and goods to order. On the spot pay for utilities and mobile communications. We can send the transfer and run to the pharmacy for medicines - always in touch. And that kind of help is important. Therefore, children often write newspapers to parents so that the mail arrives. We'll come in, talk, see how things are.

Such simple, comprehensive and timely assistance is indispensable in remote corners of the country, where state support is closely intertwined with simple human values. Therefore, care for the older generation acquires special warmth and importance not only on the eve of the Day of the elderly.

INFORMATION

A large-scale creative program is provided for the Day of Older People. The points of attraction throughout the republic will be territorial centers of social services. The Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus will hold an action “With kindness and respect!”, within the framework of which special postcards have been developed. They can be downloaded on the portal of the organization and congratulate relatives and friends. BRSM will also make its contribution – the organization launched the year-round initiative Dobro.Bel. Every month, the volunteer movement “Good Heart”, which includes 42,000 participants across the country, conducts activities – October will be dedicated to working with the elderly. For example, children will visit social institutions and lonely pensioners, all weekend volunteers will help with the delivery of agricultural products to the house from fairs.
