The Regional Department of the Federal Tax Service of Russia for the Republic of Karelia during a large-scale operation to combat tax offenses revealed the activities of local organizations that used the services of sites for generating fictitious VAT

The essence of the “paper” VAT is to artificially overstate costs through a chain of imaginary transactions with one-day firms. This allows companies to illegally increase the amount of tax deductions and, as a result, minimize payments to the budget.
