In Novaya Ladoga, after the monument to the smelt, a bronze fishing cat appeared

In Novaya Ladoga, a bronze cat with a fish in its teeth was installed on the bridge across the Petrovsky (Staroladoga) channel, the press service of the regional government reported. It symbolizes the fishing traditions of the city on the Volkhov and is likely to become one of its business cards.

The place of installation of the monument was not chosen by chance. The Petrovsky Canal with a length of 117 kilometers runs along the coast of Lake Ladoga and connects the Neva and Volkhov rivers.
