“Yandex” estimated the efficiency of its “iron heart”

Yandex has published an appeal to employees and users after the attack on two data centers of the company.

Yandex has published an appeal to employees and users after the attack on two data centers of the company. They said that the facility in Sasovo, Ryazan region was seriously damaged.

On the night of October 7-8, the Yandex data center in Sasovo was seriously damaged due to a UAV attack. His work is completely stopped. This morning there was an attack on another of our data centers in Kaluga. Part of the infrastructure is out of order. Neither in Sasovo nor in Kaluga employees were injured. Emergency services and our specialists are working on the site.

Data centers are the “iron heart” of Yandex. Their performance is critical for services that have become part of people’s daily lives. Millions of users check traffic jams and build routes, listen to music, watch movies, order products and get answers to questions. Our technologies help hundreds of thousands of companies do business: take orders, serve customers, interact with partners.

We understand that for our users, customers and partners, every failure is a broken plan and an inability to do what was part of everyday life or work.

Yandex teams are doing everything they can night and day to ensure services work and help those affected by the incident. This is our most important task, but unfortunately it is not easy.

Thank you to our employees – those who are on the sites and those who continue to work on the restoration of services. Thank you to the partners for their patience and cooperation, and to the users for their understanding.

We continue to assess the state of the infrastructure – it is very difficult to name the timeline for restoring equipment in data centers. We will talk about the situation as the information becomes available.
