Steel and mining company Severstal will be forced to go to court to protect honor and dignity from “slanderous attacks by the leadership of the Vologda region,” the company’s press service said in Vkontakte.

In connection with the latest public statements of the Governor [George] Filimonov that Severstal and its leaders allegedly finance the publication in the media, including foreign and foreign agents, of negative materials against the head of the Vologda region and his team, we report the following. Neither Severstal nor its executives have allocated any funds to finance investigations and posting negative materials against Filimonov and his employees, and statements to this effect are absolutely false and remain entirely on Filimonov’s conscience.
