In Murmansk, the exhibition “Murmansk Mussels” opened, where the first handwritten magazine created in the city was presented. The exposition became part of the XIX Feodoritov Readings dedicated to the history and cultural heritage of the Russian North.

In the center of contemporary art there are pages of an old magazine, archival materials and works of a watercolor artist related to the history of Murmansk. The exposition allows you to learn how the citizens lived and how the cultural life of the young city was formed.
This year, Feodoritov Readings are held under the theme “Russian North: from century to century” and are dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Murmansk and the 500th anniversary of the Baptism of Kandalaksha. The program includes meetings and sections dedicated to the history of the Kola North, archaeology, ethnography, church local history, archives and libraries.
Another exhibition opened in the Murmansk Regional Art Museum. The exposition “Under the cover of St. Nicholas” acquaints visitors with icons, church objects and books of the XVII-XX centuries.
Feodorite readings have been held in the Arctic since 2006 and combine events dedicated to the history, culture and preservation of the historical memory of the region.
