Nikita Mikhalkov announced work on a new film

Nikita Mikhalkov is working on a script for a new film. The director announced this at the gathering of the troupe of his theater “Workshop 12”.

“God willing, the film will be called “Russian vegetable” — said Nikita Mikhalkov (quoted by TASS). Other details of the future film he did not disclose.

Mikhalkov’s last feature film, Sunstroke based on Bunin’s works, was released in 2014. The film was nominated for an Oscar, but the film was not nominated. After the director worked on the film “Chocolate revolver”, the shooting of which was scheduled for 2018, but was postponed several times. In 2020, Mikhalkov announced plans to rework the script, and in 2024 announced the closure of the project.
