Mercury Studios will release a documentary called Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning. The tape is billed as Ozzy Osbourne's farewell film and contains a recording of the last concert in which the legendary rock musician took part just 17 days before his death. According to the BBC, the world premiere of the film is scheduled for October 28, ticket sales will begin on September 24.
The concert took place on 5 July 2025 at Villa Park Stadium in Ozzy Osbourne's hometown of Birmingham. The performance was notable for the fact that the original Black Sabbath lineup, including Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, took to the stage with Osborne. By that time, 76-year-old Ozzy Osbourne due to progressive Parkinson's disease could no longer walk and stand, so he sang, sitting on a specially designed for him Gothic throne with bat wings. Shortly after that concert, on July 22, 2025, he died.
Black Sabbath's performance then became part of a ten-hour charity marathon featuring bands Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Anthrax and others, and the fees from it went to Parkinson's research. The creators of the documentary Ozzy & Black Sabbath: Back to the Beginning cut the timing of the big concert, making a 100-minute version focusing on Ozzy's performance and working on improving the sound.
