The British Parliament will deal with the low results of the country at Eurovision
A special committee on digital technologies, culture, media and sports of the House of Commons of the British Parliament will check “on the fact of weak performances” of British artists at the Eurovision music contest, reports the BBC. The committee intends to find out why the singers are selected, who then take the last places in the competition.

Performers representing the UK at Eurovision are selected by the BBC Broadcasting Corporation. Sometimes this happens with the support of record companies and management agencies. The Special Committee will invite representatives of the BBC. They will have to explain why selected performers have been ranked last six times since 2000, sometimes without a single score.
Over these 26 years, British artists only 3 times hit the top 10, and the only time – in 2022 – representing the country Sam Ryder with the song “Space Man” took 2nd place. Until 2000, British performers were in the top 10 almost every year, and in 1997 the UK won the Eurovision Song Contest. The country was represented by Katrina and the Waves with the song "Love Shine a Light". They scored 227 points and overtook other rivals by a wide margin.
Dame Caroline Dinenidge, the head of the parliamentary committee, told the BBC: “We want to find out who chooses our representatives, on what grounds, and whether our sad achievements in recent years are the result of poor song selection, poor performance ... or something else.”.
