British author Jeffrey Archer has died
Writer Jeffrey Archer has died at the age of 86, The Guardian reports. According to HarperCollins, Archer passed away “quickly and peacefully at home” on October 5.

According to HarperCollins, Archer passed away “quickly and peacefully at home” on October 5. The writer died the day before the release of his latest novel, Adam and Eve.
During his fifty-year literary career, Archer sold more than 300 million books in 49 languages, including the best-selling Clifton Chronicles and Cain and Abel, one of the best-selling books in the world (more than 30 million copies).
Jeffrey Archer was a member of the Conservative Party. In 1985, he became deputy chairman of the party. In 2001, he was sentenced to four years in prison for perjury in a defamation case against the Star newspaper. After his release, he returned to the House of Lords. Jeffrey Archer retired in 2024.
