According to some estimates, the cost of the axe can range from £30,000 to £50,000. Also on sale will be the twin sisters’ dresses from the same film and one of the claps used on the set of “The Shining”.
The most expensive lot is expected to be a human embryo doll from another Stanley Kubrick film, 2001: A Space Odyssey. It is assumed that this exhibit can go under the hammer for £ 800,000.
The auction will take place on February 3. It will be preceded by several exhibitions, the next of which will be held in New York next week. Then the screenings will take place in Los Angeles and Paris. The final exhibition will be held in London on January 18.
