Children’s folk song ensemble “Peresvet” from Salekhard won the right to perform in the final of the All-Russian Choral Festival, becoming the winner of the first degree of the regional stage in the nomination of children’s educational choirs

Children’s folk song ensemble “Peresvet” from Salekhard won the right to perform in the final of the All-Russian Choral Festival, becoming the winner of the first degree of the regional stage in the nomination of children’s educational choirs. This was reported on October 26 in the administration of the district capital.
Competition auditions lasted from May to October. The jury evaluated not only the vocal technique and stage image, but also the ability to carefully preserve folk traditions - this is where the ensemble managed to manifest itself especially vividly.
"Peresvet" works on the basis of the department of musical folklore of the children's school of arts named after E. V. Obraztsova under the leadership of Olga Vokhmyanina. The ensemble was founded in 2012 and today bears the title of "Exemplary". It is attended by 50 children aged seven to 17 years. The repertoire of the collective includes Russian folk songs from different regions of Russia, as well as author’s works.
For Peresvet, this is not the first major victory: in 2024, the ensemble already became a first-degree laureate at the All-Russian Choral Festival in Moscow.
In 2026, the festival was dedicated to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Its main task is to preserve and develop traditional singing culture. The event has been held with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation since 2014 and is considered one of the largest musical events in the country. The final stage will be held in November and December.
In April, St. Petersburg hosted the Festival of Childhood, the Grand Prix of which went to the Salekhard choir “Dawn”. In addition to the award, the team received a 40,000-strong grant.
