According to the head of the 47th region, modern communication systems are needed to ensure the normal functioning of the monastery and the preservation of its historical buildings.
“There is a special responsibility here. The Assumption Cathedral has been standing since the XII century, since pre-Mongol times. Fragments of ancient frescoes have been preserved in it, and a sign of a prince from the Rurik family - the grandson of Vladimir Monomakh was found on one of the arches, Drozdenko explained.
Six centuries later, here, the first wife of Peter I, Evdokia Lopukhina, was under strict supervision for seven years. It is hard to imagine how many historical events and human destinies this place holds.
Therefore, all earthworks of the authorities are carried out together with archaeologists. Each new archaeological excavation can open unknown pages of the history of the first centuries of Russia. This requires special care and attention. To restore Old Ladoga, the region cooperates with major partners.
Alexey Kudrin, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Old Ladoga Museum-Reserve, is actively developing Old Ladoga as a cultural and tourist center.
The governor said that today they also showed the monastery to Yuri Solomonov, discussing connection to engineering networks. The Moscow Institute of Thermal Engineering, where Yuri Semenovich works, has a unique expertise in this matter. The authorities are joining forces to provide the monastery with infrastructure worthy of its historical significance.
“I want people to come here in a hundred and two hundred years, admire the ancient temples, learn the history of the country and thank those who managed to preserve it,” he said.
