Two Vologda bands will perform at the Theatre of Hope Babkina in Moscow

This summer, the team of the Springs project worked in the Vologda region. Origins. The goal is to identify folk musical creativity, unique for each region, to adapt it to the modern listener.

At the Moscow State Academic Theatre “Russian Song” of Nadezhda Babkina, the final concert will be held on October 19. About 130 artists from six regions will appear on the stage, including 12 folklore groups. Russian pop stars will perform old songs in a new way. Some works will be sung in national languages.

The Vologda region will be represented by two groups at once: the folklore ensemble “Yerga” of the Cherepovets Center for Traditional Folk Culture, the ensemble of folk music “Sunseter” of the Vologda Regional Philharmonic named after V. A. Gavrilin.

Cherepovchan will sing the song "Duck, uchi, uchi" and Cherepovets chapels. Vologzhan will perform the choir-dance song “Veselko”, retaining the northern dialect and manner of performance. The work was found and recorded during an ethnographic expedition in 1976 in the Velikoustyug district.
