On October 10, a concert dedicated to the legacy of the great composer Alexandra Pakhmutova was held in the Great Concert Hall of the Pskov Regional Philharmonic. The performance was given by the pop and jazz orchestra “Melody” conducted by conductor Evgeny Baranchikov.
The musicians offered the audience a real musical journey through the pages of the history of the country. Recognisable hits gained a fresh, lively sound thanks to new jazz arrangements, in which improvisation, dense wind lines and expressive instrumental solos came to the fore.
The program of the evening featured the composer’s most iconic works, including Hope, How Young We Were and Belovezhskaya Forest.
