"Treat the workers well": Mashkov told about Eugene Evstigneev
At the opening of the plaque dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of actor Evgeny Evstigneev, Vladimir Mashkov warmly remembered the great artist

According to Mashkov, the artist treated people of work with special respect, especially those who were just starting their way. Before becoming an actor, Evgeny Evstigneev worked as an electrician, and then as a locksmith at a plant in Nizhny Novgorod. As Mashkov noted, this experience determined the attitude of the artist to the workers. “He generally treated working people very well,” the art director stressed. Mashkov also noted that Evstigneev retained “the unique soul of the Russian people.”.
The daughter of Evgeny Evstigneev, Maria Selyanskaya, shared her memories of her father at the opening of a memorial plaque dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the actor’s birth. “Very kind, soulful. There was a loner, like me, an introvert, said Selyanskaya. According to her, for all the difference in characters, they were united by a love of solitude. Speaking about her father’s creative heritage, Maria admitted that she could not single out one role. “For you he is an artist – for me he is a native person,” Selyanskaya stressed.
