Saint was born in 1924 in Newark. Her career in film and television began in the 1940s.
In 1955, she won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in In Port. In 1959, she played one of the most famous roles - Eva Kendall in the Hitchcock thriller North by Northwest.
Saint also starred in the films Grand Prix, Best Girl in the World and Nothing in General. For her role in the miniseries People Like Us, she won an Emmy Award.
