The IX Interregional Festival-Competition “Our Glory is the Russian Power” was held in Luga today. From the stage sounded old soldiers and battle songs, recruiting chaptushki, as well as the rites of wires for military service, said the public administration of the Luga district.

The contest participants were about two dozen teams and performers from Leningrad and Pskov regions, St. Petersburg, Veliky Novgorod. Special guests were St. Petersburg folklore ensembles "Brother" and "Domostroy".
Guests of the festival were also able to see the photo exhibition “Meadow and the Russian Imperial Army” and the exhibition of paintings “Our Glory is the Russian Power”.
This festival-competition is held every two years. In addition to the concert program, it includes a festival “At the recruit birch”, a folk fair with master classes in decorative and applied arts, lectures and master classes on traditional culture.
Earlier, “MK in the Leningrad region” said that in Syashstroy at the legendary 300-year-old Tanechkina pine planted a memorial plaque. The tree took third place in the competition “Russian Tree of the Year”.
