In Krasnodar, the patriotic action “Defenders of Krasnodar” is held, timed to the 83rd anniversary of the complete liberation of the region from the Nazi invaders. Volunteers, youth workers and representatives of patriotic clubs put in order memorials and military graves at the All-Svyatsky cemetery.
The press service of the Krasnodar administration said that activists remove the territory from debris, dry land and fallen foliage, as well as update the paint on the fences. Head of the Department for Youth Affairs of Krasnodar Denis Malyukov noted that the participants of the action thus express gratitude and respect to the generation of winners. “It is very important that today’s youth remember the price of freedom for our native land,” he said.
By the memorable date, an educational program is held in all educational organizations of the city. For children and adolescents, rulers and “Lessons of Courage” are organized, local quizzes are held for junior students. High school students participate in the Living Memory research project: they study family archives, record memories of veterans and collect information about relatives who participated in the war.
In gymnasium No. 3, schoolchildren were told about the Battle for the Caucasus, the liberation of the hero city of Novorossiysk and the defense of the Small Land. School No 10 organized a book exhibition “Krasnodar: pages of history”, where they presented literature dedicated to the history of the regional capital.
