Georgy Negashev died: the director died at the 79th year of life

At the 79th year of life, the director, screenwriter, producer Georgy Negashev died. His death was announced on September 18 by the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, of which he was a member.

Negashev was born on December 7, 1947 in Sverdlovsk. Over the years, he has created more than 40 films. A number of his works were awarded Russian and international film festivals.

A significant part of Negashev’s career was associated with the film studios of Sverdlovsk and Novosibirsk. In 1992-1994 he headed the West Siberian Film Studio in Novosibirsk.

After that, Negashev headed the Sverdlovsk film studio. He remained in this position for almost ten years - until 2003.

The Union of Cinematographers noted the director’s contribution to domestic cinema. Separately, his participation in the development of cinema in Yekaterinburg and the popularization of documentaries in Russia was emphasized.
