The 12th “Autumn Salon” started in the Palace of Art. The exposition presents the works of 200 authors under the age of 40 from all over the republic, the correspondent of the Minsk-Novosti agency reports.
Traditionally, on the day of vernissage, the entrance to the exhibition is free: more than 3,500 guests annually come to the opening: artists, art historians, collectors and fans of contemporary art.

What's new
The main innovation of the 12th season is the transition from the general panorama to thematic blocks. As explained by the coordinator and art critic of the project Ekaterina Yankovsky, the exhibition is built around four conceptual lines:
- 1.Nostos is a return to the roots, a reflection of national memory and personal identity.
- 2.Hyperobject is an ecological agenda and a person’s place in a changing environment.
- 3.Accelerated Time and Technogenic Progress: The Impact of the Digital Age and Technology.
- 4.Joint loneliness is the psychology of relationships in modern society, where people live side by side, but experience internal disconnection.
- It was important for us to see the artists’ response to the open call on given topics. This approach has qualitatively changed the exposition: working with curatorial drama is more difficult than simply fixing the current art process. But the result was deeper and more expressive, Yankovsky said.

Tough selection: 200 participants out of thousands of applicants
About 1,000 applications were received for participation in the 12th Autumn Salon, of which the expert commission selected the works of 200 artists. According to the coordinator of the project, the selection was based on a comprehensive art analysis: the technical skill, novelty of the artistic language, the relevance of the statement and how the works fit into the general space of the halls were assessed.
Belarusian model Zhanna Glyatsevich, 77, was seen at the exhibition:
- It's very nice here! It’s good to have such exhibitions. This is how we meet young talents.
One of the exhibitors, artist Daria Zhminko, appreciated the high level of her colleagues.
- I have applied five times to participate in this exhibition. It was the sixth time my work was chosen. I can say that the works presented here are worthy of the highest appreciation. I am glad to be among the best.
