In the Pskov library "Rodnik" named after S. A. Zolotsev, a festive event "Osenina" was held. Its participants were students of the Secondary General Education School No. 12, and the main guides to the world of folk traditions were artists of the folk song ensemble “Gorenka” of the Children’s School of Arts.
The holiday was opened by the head of the ensemble Olga Khovanskaya. She told the children what importance our ancestors attached to the harvest festival and how they celebrated the end of the summer season.
In the performance of "Gorenka" sounded traditional songs - "It's not too early in the yard", "On the stove threshing", "Crisspool", "Ducking meadow" and others. Each performance was accompanied by jokes, jokes and small scenes recreating the color of village life.
Olga Khovanskaya paid special attention to the life and games of village children. Young students were shown antique toys and told how dolls were made in the old days - and why faces were never painted on them.
Further, the holiday became truly interactive: schoolchildren, together with the artists, sang Pskov chaptushki, tried to play folk instruments - on rattles to the song "My Drum" and on spoons to the cheerful "In the garden sang a goat." The guys not only played along, but also enthusiastically portrayed how the goat bleats. They also learned about other traditional musical instruments.
The holiday ended with a general dance. From it, the participants “rolled cabbage” – so symbolically recreated one of the main autumn rites: at this time of year, ancestors harvested cabbage for the winter.
