How on the souvenir site of the Kalinkovichi meat processing plant create masterpieces of unusual material

What can combine tea, coffee, chocolate, spices, black caviar, sand, oil, paper clips, scotch, cassette films, radio parts, household garbage? This is not a complete list of materials that are used by modern artists in the creation of paintings. Their contribution to this trend is made by employees of OJSC “Kalinkovichi meat processing plant” Olga Kirshchyna and Svetlana Danilovich. Real works of art - paintings and souvenirs they make from ... bull horns. The complex process and impressive result were appreciated by the correspondents of SB Week.

Beauty is born in the walls of the site of souvenir products, which operates at the enterprise for almost 30 years. A little less here the artist Olga Kirschina works, who entered the creative path in early childhood:

- From the first grade I studied in a visual studio. She also loved sewing. On vacation after fifth grade, Dad brought a huge bag of flap from somewhere. And I sat on the porch sewing, sewing, sewing. I had all the dolls and cats I could catch.

Olga Kirschina. The following summer, the turn reached his father's workshop. Armed with a tool, Olya made a dog box - good, with a door on the veils. And when she found a copper roll and metal scissors, the house for the pet was crowned with a luxurious roof. The father who came from work was delighted. And the skill not according to the years of a skilled daughter, and the use she found of the most scarce material at that time, the narrator recalls:

- But my brother and I have never been scolded for such creativity. My parents paid a lot of attention to our development, giving us the opportunity to create, and I did.

After receiving a pedagogical education, Olga worked as a school teacher of drawing and drawing. Then there was maternity leave, during which she realized that she wanted to realize herself in the creative field. In the district newspaper I saw a vacancy of an artist-designer at a meat factory, where I got a job. And later graduated from the art and graphic faculty of Vitebsk State University named after Masherov. Situation on the site of souvenirs is something between a creative workshop and a school class of labor lessons. With a special atmosphere and a small fleet of equipment - here is a tape saw, grinding machine, heat treatment oven, press, other necessary tools.

The main raw material for work is a bull horn, Olga devotes in detail:

- The fact is that cow horns have too thick walls, which makes them difficult to cut and bend. But bullish is a very plastic material with good properties. From the already clean and dry horns, the largest and most beautiful specimens are selected. They are cut in half, heated in a special oven and put in the press. Two flat plates are obtained, then elements of the desired shape are cut out of them. In the future, they will be installed by the method of application and will take a place in the picture, giving it a three-dimensional effect.

It is also necessary to prepare the background, making a primer, drawing and finishing, as well as make a frame. One picture, if you deal exclusively with it, takes at least a week.

It's not much easier to make souvenirs. Each leaf, flower and petal must be cut, grinded, bent in the right way. And during gluing - to observe the sequence of fastening of details. Otherwise, the structure will fall apart. To say that the process is laborious is to say nothing.

The reward for painstakingness is guaranteed uniqueness. None of the works are similar to the previous one, Olga is sure:

- Even if I want to copy one to one, like a printer, or stamp like a machine, it will not work. Manual work is always exclusive. Souvenir handler Svetlana Danilovich has been working on the site for six years, having changed the profession of a chef to creativity, to which she also gravitated since childhood, so even hard work at the machine did not scare:

- I liked all this to such an extent that in the first months I even forgot about the lunch break – I stood and sharpened everything and sharpened everything. Before I started to slow down, “You’ve already filled up the warehouse.” Stop it! I just love my job. First of all, because she really found herself in it, her true calling.

From under the hands of women came dozens of paintings and souvenirs. They're all works of art. Whether it is hemp with fungi, flower beds, landscapes or a record-breaking Grandma biker riding a motorcycle on the highway.

- I don't know why, but I didn't like her since high school. It’s a painful atmosphere for me personally. And then suddenly I get the task to make exactly this picture. I even grabbed my head! I gotta do it. And when I finished, I couldn't take my eyes off. Now it's my favorite job.

The works of the creative duo can be seen in the branded stores of the meat processing plant, as well as at various exhibitions in which the company participates. Visitors are delighted. However, they often sigh - they say, it is expensive. Svetlana shares a personal comment on this:

- I went to one of our stores to see what the work looked like. I noticed the price tag: "Wow! It's expensive! But after I tried to do it myself, especially cutting plates on the machine, I immediately realized that the cost is not inflated. Appreciate someone’s work you start after you try to do it with your own hands.
