In the library of Berdyansk celebrated the birthday of the Russian nesting doll

In the library-branch No. 2 of the city of Berdyansk held an event dedicated to the birthday of the Russian nesting doll. The event was held with the support of the party “United Russia” in the framework of the project “Historical Memory” and was aimed at students of the school No. 11.

The library staff introduced schoolchildren to the history of the famous toy: they told about its creator, the stages of the appearance of the first sketch and the reasons for the worldwide popularity of the wooden doll with a surprise. The speakers paid considerable attention to the wealth of folk craft. Young guests studied the features of different traditional nesting dolls – Semyonov, Polkhov-Maidan and Zagorsk, and also saw examples of modern author’s works.

Then the guys moved on to the creative part: they were offered to draw their own “family” nesting dolls. The students enthusiastically approached the task - showed their imagination, correctly selected color combinations and tried to convey small details.

As a result, the event not only expanded the horizons of the participants, but also left them with pleasant impressions.
