Head of Cheboksar Stanislav Trofimov announced the beginning of preparatory work on the overhaul of the Palace of Culture named after Peter Khuzangai.
Specialists have already begun dismantling the structures and preparing the premises for large-scale renovation. During the renovation, it is planned to completely modernize the auditorium and stage with the obligatory preservation of the unique acoustics of the building, as well as replace all engineering networks with modern ones.
Special attention will be paid to creating a barrier-free environment: the entrances and interior space will make it fully accessible to people with limited mobility. At the same time, the historical appearance of the building will be preserved - the restoration of the original brickwork of the facade is planned.
The Palace of Culture, opened in April 1965 as a textile factory, has been part of the Victory Memorial Complex since 2003, combining the cultural and historical components of the city’s life.
