The National Library of the Chuvash Republic announced the start of the traditional republican festival-competition “Literary Chuvashia: Book of the Year-2025”.
The project is implemented with the support of the regional Ministry of Culture, Nationalities and Archival Affairs, as well as the Chuvash branch of the Union of Writers of Russia, the Chuvash Book Publishing House and the Chuvash State Institute of Humanities. The main goal of the event is to popularize the works of local authors and develop reading culture in the region.
Literary and artistic works in the Chuvash and Russian languages, published in 2025, are accepted for participation, which are distinguished by high artistic quality and reflect the historical and cultural traditions of the region.
Winners will be selected in several nominations, including Most Read Book (Prose and Poetry), Most Read Book for Children and Youth, Best Book through the Eyes of Literary Critics, Best Book Promotion and Reading Project (among municipal libraries), and Reading Leader (among the most active readers of the three age groups).
Online voting in reading categories will last until December 10, 2026 on the official website of the National Library of Chuvashia. Within the framework of the festival, creative meetings with writers, presentations of new publications and thematic exhibitions are also planned. The names of the winners will be announced in December 2026.
