In the Museum-Estate of Mussorgsky opened an exhibition of embroidered towels

In the Museum-estate of M.P. Mussorgsky in Naumovo, an exhibition of genuine towels of the late XIX - early XX century from the funds of the museum branch began. About this "MK in Pskov" reported in the Pskov Museum-Reserve.

The opening took place within the framework of the All-Russian action “Night of Arts”. As the head of the museum-estate Lydia Nikolaeva noted, each towel is not just a towel, but a whole story told with threads: in the patterns - wishes of good, amulets for the family, symbols of happiness and prosperity.

The exhibition presents wedding, “theological” and ritual specimens made in the technique of embroidery and brazen weaving. Visitors will be able to learn how the towel accompanied a person in the main events of life.

The exhibition will run until January 2027 at the address: Kunya municipal district, Naumovo, Museum street, 5.
