In the Novgorod Kremlin will be a tour about the growing up of medieval boys
Novgorod Museum-Reserve prepared for a thematic family tour dedicated to the traditions of upbringing and growing up of boys in medieval Novgorod

The Novgorod Museum-Reserve has prepared a thematic family tour dedicated to the traditions of upbringing and growing up of boys in medieval Novgorod.
During the event, visitors will learn how the male and female worlds were divided in the Middle Ages, and at what age our ancestors ended their childhood. Guides will tell in detail about the stages of growing up, important initiation ceremonies, as well as how the child was prepared for the role of the future defender of the city and the continuation of the family business.
The program will be held in the halls of the exposition “History of Novgorod and the Novgorod land from ancient times to the end of the XVII century”. In addition to education, physical development and the basics of military affairs, attention will be paid to the leisure of medieval teenagers.
A special part of the tour will be interactive: guests will be offered to play pile. This traditional fun was popular among both children and adults. Its essence is to throw a pointed iron rod into the rings lying on the ground.
The tour is aimed at a family audience and will help modern children and parents to better understand the life, traditions and values of our ancestors.
