Eldar Ryazanov Museum in Samara will launch a series of lectures “Behind the scene” (12+), dedicated to professions that help create cinema, but often remain invisible to viewers. The first meeting will be held on October 17 at 14:00. It will be devoted to tricks in Soviet cinema.
Historian and senior researcher of the museum Elena Shatilova and tour guide Arina Korobeinikova will tell about the difficulties faced by the filmmakers of Eldar Ryazanov and how they filmed the most memorable scenes.
Korobeinikova will analyze the stunt episodes from the paintings “Man from Nowhere” (1961, 12+), “Hussar Ballad” (1962, 6+), “Beware of the Car” (1966, 12+) and “Old Knaps” (2000, 12+).
Special attention will be paid to the comedy “The Incredible Adventures of Italians in Russia” (1974, 12+). During filming, the actors had to participate in car chases, perform dangerous tricks and work with a lion named King. Andrey Mironov, for example, himself performed complex episodes: in one of the scenes, he moved up the shaking stairs of a fire truck to the roof of the Zhigulya, and then climbed into the cabin.
Elena Shatilova will talk about other unusual cinematic tasks: how they filmed the fall of a huge sofa on the “French”, driving under a pipe truck and landing an airplane on the highway.
The lecture "Difficulties of Soviet stunt cinema" begins at 14:00 on October 17. The age limit is 12+.
