In Sochi defended the historical appearance of the library named after Pushkin

In Sochi approved the subject of protection of the library named after Pushkin on Primorskaya Street. The document fixes the architectural elements of the building that must be preserved during restoration, and establishes the requirements for the work.

According to the head of the city Andrey Prosbynin, the library is an object of cultural heritage and is under state protection. This year the building turned 114 years old. Its historical value is associated, among other things, with the name of the Sochi architect Alexei Butkin, on whose project the library was built.

The new document is designed to protect the building from commercial development of the pedestrian part of the green zone of Primorsky Park. During the restoration, specialists will have to take into account historical drawings and preserve the original elements, including decoration, stucco, color scheme and layout.

Approval of the subject of protection allows you to determine what features of the historic building can not be lost during repair and restoration work.
