XII Scientific Conference on Art and Restoration will be held in Veliky Novgorod

In Veliky Novgorod, on October 14, the XII scientific conference entitled “Novgorod and Novgorod Land: Art and Restoration” will open, the press service of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve reported.

Within three days, historians, restorers and art historians from Moscow, St. Petersburg, Pskov and other cities will present more than thirty reports on the study and preservation of monuments of Byzantine and ancient Russian art.

The range of topics discussed will be very wide. Scientists will tell about how the destroyed frescoes were restored in post-war Novgorod and how the bird looks unclear on ancient Pskov paintings. Experts will also share research on the restoration of ancient churches and traditional Russian tiles.

The scientific program will be complemented by excursions and visits to exhibitions of the Novgorod Museum-Reserve.
