In 2026, seven modern children's cultural and educational centers were opened in the Smolensk region within the framework of the federal project "Family values and cultural infrastructure" of the national project "Family". New points of attraction for young residents appeared in Smolensk, as well as in Duchovshchinsky, Demidovsk, Velizhsky and Krasninsky municipal districts.
Governor Vasily Anokhin stressed that children should be interested in learning and developing, and the task of the authorities is to create opportunities for creativity regardless of where they live.
What has emerged in the region:
In Smolensk:
The Sirin Center was opened in the Russian Antiquity Museum with an interactive playing floor, a video wall and a year-long program of lectures and master classes.
Children’s Library No. 6 has a Children’s Reading Center with a computer classroom. Here will launch the school “Magic Friends”, the studio “Academy of Young Geniuses” and the literary living room.
In the regions:
Duchovshchi District (Ozerna Library): The Academy of Childhood opened with a multimedia center, a puppet theater and a thousand new books.
Demidov: there was an “Island of Family Reading” with a media lecture hall, a “Smart Space” laboratory and a sensory studio “Sand Stories”.
Velizh: opened "Bookgrad" with AR-books (which come to life on a smartphone) and an interactive globe.
Red: the Firefly Center began its work with an updated fund and interactive equipment.
Smolensk (Center of Folk Art): a unique innovative zone has been created for children aged 7-14 with VR glasses, a full-fledged multi-studio, chromakey and graphic editors.
All institutions were renovated, modern furniture purchased and book collections updated.
