In the first days of November, Voronezh residents are waiting for a shortened working week – four working days instead of five. The reason for this is the celebration of National Unity Day. An additional weekend will be on Wednesday, November 4, so you will have to work Monday and Tuesday (short by an hour), followed by Thursday and Friday.
The holiday is traditionally celebrated on November 4 each year. It was established in honor of the liberation of Moscow from the Polish invaders in 1612, when the people's militia under the command of Kuzma Minin and Dmitry Pozharsky expelled the invaders from the capital.
National Unity Day is included in the list of non-working holiday dates. According to Article 112 of the Labor Code of the Russian Federation, if the holiday coincides with a working day, it becomes a day off.
As for working hours, in November 2026, Russians, including residents of the Voronezh region, will work 20 days. A total of 30 calendar days per month. The norm of working time per month depends on the schedule in force in the organization. At a standard 40-hour week, an employee needs to work 159 hours. For those who work 36 hours a week, the norm is 143 hours.
