In the Donetsk State Academic Music and Drama Theater named after M. M. Brovun, after a major restoration, one of the most piercing performances returned - the rehearsal of love "Edith Piaf". On November 4 and 5, the Scene on the Sadovoy stage screenings of the play by Lyudmila Kostenko took place, the DPR Ministry of Culture reported.
For the director Anna Tsyban, this work has a special meaning: eighteen years ago it became her thesis performance. The art team shifted their focus, presenting Piaf not only as a legend but as a man with a stage obsession.
The main artist Ruslan Fadienko created a figurative design with an improvised stage-grammophone, emphasizing that the life of the singer consisted of music. Costume designer Olga Kuznetsova updated the outfits, allowing actress Elena Chicanchi to instantly reincarnate in different stages of the heroine’s life.
General Director Natalia Volkova noted that the theater continues to talk with the audience about love and passion for their work.
