Ten festival days, six venues, performances in nine languages and more than 10,000 spectators. In Brest ended XXX International "White Vezha", the halls of which were filled by an average of 98 percent. The results of the anniversary theatrical marathon summed up the General Director of the Brest Academic Drama Theater Anna Senkovets, writes sb.by.

The history of “White Vezha” began in Brest in 1996. The first festival was held on the initiative of the Honored Artist of the Republic of Belarus, winner of the National Theatre Award Alexander Kozak. For three decades, the forum brought together artists from more than 60 countries, and 770 performances were shown at its venues.
From September 10 to 19, the festival poster held audiences from classical ballet to street performances, from Pushkin’s novel in verse to traditional Chinese opera Wuju. Dramatic and puppet performances, single performances, musical and experimental productions were shown on the stages. They sounded in Belarusian, Russian, Bulgarian, Armenian, Georgian, Chinese, Roma, Uzbek and Komi.

Interest in the anniversary program appeared long before the first performance. Ticket sales began three months before the opening, but the seats for the most anticipated performances were dismantled by the audience in the first days. During the festival, the demand was confirmed by almost full halls.
- More than 10 thousand spectators attended the performances, the occupancy rate was 98 percent. I think the audience confirmed that the festival was a success. All the bands that remained in the program at the start came to Brest, and the audience received a lot of beautiful emotions. We are proud that the thirtieth anniversary “White Vezha” turned out to be really bright, said Anna Senkovets.

The theme of the XXX “White Vezhi” is “30 years together!” The gold fund of the festival”. The anniversary poster includes the works of collectives who have already come to Brest and become winners of the forum. Together with new productions, they brought different theater schools and national traditions. But the festival was not limited to screenings. Its program included creative meetings, master classes of GITIS teachers on stage speech, movement and acting, an archival exhibition and an international conference “Theaters of Tomorrow”. Challenges and strategies”. Therefore, "White Vezha" has become not only a spectator holiday, but also a platform for professional conversation.

The anniversary program began on the embankment of Francisk Skaryna. Under the open air, the State Academic Theatre of Classical Ballet by Natalia Kasatkina and Vladimir Vasilev from Moscow presented Swan Lake. The finale was no less musical. The Moscow Musical and Drama Roma Theatre "Roman" completed the poster with a theatrical concert program "Gypsies of Russia".

The final applause has already been heard, but the pause will be short-lived. Negotiations with possible participants of the next “White Vezha” began a few months ago. A new poster is formed long before the viewer sees the first names on it.
