There are no simple questions. The drama “Sertz on Daloni” was embodied on the stage of the Kupalovsky Theater

The first premiere of the season at the National Academic Theatre named after Yanka Kupala was the drama “Sarza on Daloni”. The correspondent of the Minsk-News agency plunged into the atmosphere of the events described by the classic of Belarusian literature Ivan Shamyakin.

The artistic director of the theater, director Dmitry Akimov, whose performances “And the Zory here is Chikhia” and “Dzyadzechka’s Dream” became events in the cultural life of the capital, decided to take up another production. He chose a new reading of the famous work, moving away from the theme of fathers and children, focusing on war and the search for justice.

The spectacle-reasoning, analysis and operation on the heart of each viewer is how its creators characterize it. Akimov stressed that the viewer will not receive simple answers, but there will be many questions. Characters will be tested by time and love.

The director noted that he studied the novel for more than six months, he was worried about the meanings that are relevant and resonate in the heart.

- Let them all determine themselves when they come to this show, he said. We approached the author’s text very carefully, for the sake of stage variations, we transformed some situations in the plot so that the audience did not get confused who is who of the characters. Some do good, others do evil. The novel and the staging do not contradict each other in terms of artistic integrity. I am interested in complex topics and acute social issues. The work “Evil Zorka” raises the theme of the Chernobyl tragedy, since which 40 years have passed. That's relevant, too. I decided which of these works to put on stage, closer to me was “Sarza on Daloni”. The music was selected intuitively, with a focus on how I feel a particular scene to convey the desired atmosphere.

Akimov assured that artificial intelligence is a useful tool that can quickly give the right solution, but from the point of view of artistic tasks, the machine is not yet able to implement them.

- Even if you enter this territory, you still have to adjust the result as an artist, and for me, my intuition, material and theme are primary in the search for solutions, so AI was not involved in the creation of the performance.

- I play Zosya. For me, she is very bright, but at the same time she knows how to fight. She tries to help during the war, she has such an inner impulse. She is a wonderful person, to reach the level of such a high soul of my heroine had to try, admitted the artist Tatiana Gulevitch.

The production designer Lilia Khismatullina (Russian scenographer and costume designer) did not seek to convey historical reality to the smallest detail. Viewers see the stylization of the Soviet era.

- We ask questions with one or another performance, and the main thing is that the viewer after watching came out, thinking: what am I really, what would I do in such circumstances.

The upcoming screenings of the drama will take place on October 8, 11 and 13.
