The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has opened 76 cases on the fuel market, and issued 109 warnings, of which 75 have already been executed. The relevant report was presented at a meeting in the government, which was held by Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.
As part of efforts to prevent violations of antimonopoly legislation in the oil products sector, 154 agreements were concluded in 53 regions of Russia between the authorities and independent filling stations to stabilize fuel prices.
Regional authorities, in turn, reported on the supply and reserves of petroleum products, as well as on the dynamics of prices. Industry companies reported measures to meet domestic fuel demand. Among them is the increase in production and import of fuel, as well as the restructuring of logistics.
The Ministry of Energy presented a report on the balance of production and consumption of petroleum products, stressing that compensatory measures, such as the import of petroleum products and the introduction of new capacities, help maintain stability in the market.
On September 30, the FAS announced the initiation of 58 cases against oil companies and independent participants in the oil products market on grounds of violation of antimonopoly legislation. The agency also issued 91 warnings. Most of the violations were found in independent participants of the retail fuel market.
In July, the FAS reported 15 cases and 38 warnings, 41 cases and 68 warnings in August. The inspections concerned, among other things, unjustified increases in gasoline and diesel prices.
