Now, according to Ms. Kakhrumanova, it is possible to exchange digital rubles for cash at ATMs only if you transfer funds to a bank account in advance. “This is just another task for the future: to make it possible to withdraw cash directly from the digital ruble account in an ATM,” said Ms. Kakhrumanova. According to her, this decision will be implemented at the next stages of the development of the digital ruble.
Since September 1, the digital ruble has become the third form of national currency after cash and non-cash. All transfers and payments in digital rubles are now free, but from 2027 there will be tariffs for individual entrepreneurs and companies. For individuals, there is a limit on replenishing the digital account at 300 thousand rubles per month. In various development scenarios, experts expect that in 5-7 years, the digital ruble will take from 5% to 30% of non-cash turnover.
