Shipment of Russian wheat for export for the second decade of September decreased almost four times to 347 thousand tons against 1.3 million tons for the same period last year. The reduction has been ongoing since July. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the data of the Russian grain Union.
Shipment of barley fell 9.9 times - to 21.9 thousand tons, corn - three times, to 11.8 thousand tons. Shipment of main types of grain for the second decade of September decreased to 381 thousand tons against 1.6 million tons last year.
Director of the analytical department of the Union Elena Tyurina believes that by the end of the month, the volume of wheat exports will not exceed 1 million tons. In September last year, 5.7 million tons were shipped.
In August, the figure was 1.3 million tons. The volume of grain shipments fell sharply after the strikes of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on grain terminals of Novorossiysk and ships in the Sea of Azov. Since August 12, the work of NKCP, NZT and KSK, the largest deep-water grain terminals in Russia, with a total transshipment capacity of 26.1 million tons per year, has been suspended. Elena Tyurina notes that grain flows have now shifted to the Baltic States.
