Gazprom shares jumped 3.17% on September 22. According to 16:45 GMT, quotes reached 100.27 rubles. The company’s shares last traded above 100 rubles on July 2.
The driver of the growth of quotations was the news that the German party “Alternative for Germany” (AfD) won the election in the state of Mecklenburg – Western Pomerania. The party advocates the restart of the Nord Stream gas pipeline.
At the end of last week, Reuters, citing two sources familiar with the plans, reported on the preparation of a meeting in 2027, the head of RDIF Kirill Dmitriev and representatives of the AfD to discuss the restoration of gas supplies to Germany.
