Petrovax Pharm started the procedure for registration of the cancer drug Kamrelizumab (trade name “Areima”) in Botswana and three other countries. This was reported in an interview with Kommersant by the president of the company Mikhail Tsyferov.
About which markets in question, Mr. Tsyferov did not disclose. According to the manufacturer’s website, Petrovax now exports products to more than a dozen countries of the EAEU and the EU.
Kamrelizumab was developed by the Chinese Jiangsu Hengrui. In Russia, the production of the drug under the brand "Areima" is localized by Petrovax Pharm in partnership with N. F. Gamalei NICEM. The first registration certificate in Russia, the drug received in November 2024 for the treatment of cancer of the nasopharynx and esophagus. Later, the indications were expanded to non-small cell lung cancer, and in August 2026 – three times negative breast cancer (see “Kommersant” from August 19). Since 2026, the drug is included in the list of vital (VED).
Despite the inclusion in the WVLP, "Areima" has not yet appeared in any of the compensation tariffs, said Mikhail Tsyferov. However, the situation should change from 2027: the drug is planned to be included in treatment regimens under the MHI program, said earlier the Deputy Director General of the Center for Expertise and Quality Control of Medical Care (CEKMP) Inna Zheleznyakova.
