Prices in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for the first time in several months went down
August 2026 brought the Krasnoyarsk region an unexpected turn: consumer prices in the region for the first time in a long time went down

According to the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Bank of Russia, the decline by July was 0.28%. Annual inflation at the same time slowed down slightly, but still holds around 7%.
The main contribution to cheapening was made by the food basket. On the shelves became noticeably more seasonal vegetables - potatoes, carrots, beets and cabbage, which immediately affected the price tags. In addition, the supply of grapes increased, which also affected the overall dynamics. Services are cheaper.
However, not all product categories showed a decline. The non-food group, by contrast, showed little growth. Among the more expensive positions are sugar, communications and TV and radio. The cost of foreign tours has also increased: in the region this is due to a limited number of direct routes.
Separately, it is worth noting the situation in the fuel market. After several months of growth, gasoline prices stabilized in August. This, according to experts, was one of the key reasons for the overall slowdown in inflation.
“The main contribution to the acceleration of inflation in previous months was the situation on the fuel market. In August, we see a reversal: fuel prices stabilized, food prices fell, and this led to lower prices in August. Annual inflation remains above the target. The Bank of Russia will continue to pursue monetary policy aimed at returning inflation to 4% in 2027 and its consolidation near this level, said Sergey Zhuravlev, head of the Krasnoyarsk branch of the Bank of Russia.
Thus, the August price decline remains a point phenomenon against the background of the general inflation picture. The main effect was the seasonal factor and the stabilization of the fuel market, while the annual figure still exceeds the target.
