Only three commercial vessels passed through the Strait of Hormuz on September 22, which is one less than the previous day. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the analytical company Kpler.
All three vessels, including the Panamax-class tanker, left the strait. Prior to the outbreak of the war with Iran on February 28, about 125 large commercial ships per day passed through the route. Around 20% of the world’s daily supply of crude oil and liquefied natural gas was transported through the Strait of Hormuz.
Now the intensity of traffic has decreased significantly. 22 cargo ships passed through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait on September 22: 14 were heading towards the Red Sea, another 8 to the Gulf of Aden.
Among them were five Panamax tankers, six Supramax vessels, four Aframax tankers, one Suezmax and one VLCC supertanker. On average, over the past 10 days, about 26 ships passed through the strait.
