Two agencies revised forecasts for the rating of France
International rating agency Fitch Ratings has changed the forecast for the long-term default rating of the issuer of France from stable to negative.

International rating agency Fitch Ratings has changed the forecast for the long-term default rating of the issuer of France from stable to negative.
The agency explained the decision by the deterioration of the economic situation since August 2026. Among the reasons are the slowdown in economic growth, the increase in borrowing costs and the widening of the budget deficit.
According to Fitch, the combination of these factors worsens the dynamics of public debt in France, which was previously at a weak level.
On October 25, Moody’s also changed the outlook for France’s rating from stable to negative.
